One of the funniest books I have read for ages.

Wanting a book a bit different from the norm I stumbled on this and thought I would give the book a try. I was a little worried at first, in that, with this being about RAF and my only knowledge of the RAF and planes extending to once watching the 'Battle of Britain' film, that it might all go over my head.
I am however really glad I gave it a go, as this is one of funniest books I have read for ages. With every page another laugh out loud moment as the author takes you on wonderful rambling detour of anecdotes and hilarity. With it kind of being 'Withnail & I' meets the 'Spike Milligan's War Memoirs'.
One of the nice things, is not only the free and easy readable (down the pub) nature of the author. But also he makes lots of allowances for non 'Plane Spotter' newbies such as myself with all the terms used kept to a minimum and where used humorously explained on each pre chapter glossary.
Its books like this that makes me thrilled about digital publishing's allowing such new authors to finally get a chance to publish their books and I for one can't wait for future books released by him.

Memories come flooding back!

This book has brought so many memories of my time at RAF Honington and RAF Laarbruch. I wasn't on the same squadron as the author, but the 'other lot' across the runway, 16 Squadron also a Buccaneer Sqn. Our relationship was similair to the author's 'other shift' syndrome! I could not stop laughing whilst reading this book, and for those not familiar with the RAF in general all these incidents did, and still happen, it is a squadron thing! Fantastic journey through a 'wild' time of my life. Oh happy days!

XV as we new it !

I served on this Sqn at the time line in which this book is based.
I recall many of the incidents that are mentioned, & had fun working out the Puesodonames used to describe varoius Sqn members.
He has Missed a few excellant incidents that happened out there in Germany,{ Maybe just as well ! } But all in all an excelent memoir of life on a front line Cold war Sqn at the pointy end !.
If only I could turn the clock back !
