Delightful Book For The Kindle

I love fractured fairy tales and this is one of the best ones that I have ever read. This book was designed especially for the Kindle so kid's will love having a book of their very own to read on their parent's Kindle. Parents and grandparents can use this story to introduce their children to the wonderful world of Kindle books.
The story is well written and the humor is over the top. The illustrations are large enough to see the details and the contrast is great. Unfortunately, the Kindle pictures are still black and white but I think kids will love them.
The story takes place in New York City and poor Cinder-Smella has smelly feet. Her wicked stepsisters are invited to an ice skating ball at Rockefeller Center by Prince Charmingschnoz. Of course, Cinder-Smella will have to stay home alone....or will she?
This book is a real bargain at $1.99. Highly recommended for both young and old.

My first thought in looking at Cinder-Smella was "Oh No! Not another Cinderella. . ." From the beginning of the book I quickly realized that Cinder-Smella was no ordinary, hum-drum version of an old classic. Alan Sitomer's version kept me smiling and laughing to the very end. A book destined to keep children giggling and adults, at the very least, smiling. Truly a book to share, read together and enjoy. Cinder-Smella is certain to become a family favorite to be read again, and again. Even the most reluctant reader is sure to find a love of reading and a love of words while having fun with Sitomer's book. Good job, Alan!

Cinder-Smella's nasty feet find a way into your heart

Alan Sitomer is dialed into what kids think, and "Cinder-Smella, A Timeless Tale of Stinky Feet" is but one example of that. The author, who is a Los Angeles English teacher (or was), veers into the silly with this take on the age-old classic. But this is no Disney knock-off. Sitomer infuses his urban-modern tale with straight-up realism while poking fun at relationships and emphasizing the difficulties of being young and an alienated outcast. She's got a nasty stepmonster and two lousy, self-centered step sisters. Who can't relate? At least in some way. I read it to my 5-year-old granddaughter, and she adored the story. And what did she want afterwards? "Read it again," she said.

This book recieved a 2003 AJN Book of the Year Award. Now that I have digested it, I understand why my mentor gave it to me. I am an MSN student, but this book is a must read for all those involved in nursing education. That includes both faculty and students. The writing style holds one's interest. The topic of critical thinking can be so incredibly dry. This book is anything but dry. It's fabulous."

Adult Learning - This Is The Best!

I am a hospital nurse educator, and was recently challenged by my medical director (not a nurse but a huge team player) to gear all my programs to strengthen critical thinking in nurses. We as nurses can be so task oriented as a result of being so busy and gearing our strengths to meet our immense immediate demands. This book was outstanding in giving me ideas to use as I teach nurses (and myself) to reach that part of the brain that "really thinks", synthesizes and applies. I personally have felt a "new" part of my brain stimulated. For me, a nurse with 30 years in the field, this approach feels fresh and relevant.

This book is excellent for the concepts and ideas discussed in this book can be applied not only to nursing but to any profession in which is required a higher level of though. I liked reading this book a lot for critical thinking is the most important skill a health care professional can possess in order to be successful. I highly recommend this book to anyone preparing to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX)or any other certification test for critical thinking skills are essential for demonstrating a candidate has the knowledge to pass. This book teaches step by step how to develop critical thinking which will enable a person to pass any test based on this specific way of reasoning out information in order to make an educated judgment based on in-depth thinking. I am totally impressed the book and its author, Rosalinda Alfaro-LeFevre, made an outstanding job on researching and supporting her views and recommendations for developing critical thinking skills.

Estoy disfrutando mucho el contenido de este libro, a diferencia de muchos libros que ya se han escrito sobre las constelaciones familiares. Puedes encontrar no solamente informacion de los enredos sistemicos y las dinamica que muy a menudo se dan entre los miembros de una familia. Sino que a su vez, podras leer sobre fundamentos de la psicologia que explican como y porque se dan estas dinamica en la psique humana, Permitiendonos tener mas claridad y comprension de las situaciones que se pueden presentar en determinados escenarios. Tambien presenta casos reales y a la vez sugerencias para que tu mismo/a puedas aplicar en determinadas situaciones que se se esten presentando en tu vida. Realmente es un libro con una mezcla de conocimiento y practica escrito con mucha fluidez y un lenguaje facil de comprender.

El trabajo con constelaciones familiares ha hecho grandes cambios en mi vida.
El solo hecho de leer material desde esta perspectiva, me ha permitido hacer mejoras a través de la toma de consciencia, el agradecímiento, el respeto y el amor. O al menos, tener en el punto de mira estas alternativas para mirar mi realidad y el mundo que me rodea.
Comencé a seguir la página en FB de la autora, quien generosamente hace regalos todo el tiempo con frases cortas pero contundentes acerca de cómo mirar nuestros procesos de vida para estar en el mundo. Me ha gustado mucho.
Así que compre llena de expectativas y muy emocionada el libro, porque está escrito desde el punto de vista de constelaciones familiares y porque la autora me había acompañado por medio de FB, sin saberlo, en mis procesos de vida.
Antes de comprarlo leí su currículum, pues tristemente, en ocasiones he comprado material por esta vía que me ha resultado una completa decepción. Y a veces, hasta una grosera estafa.
Y debo decir que me pareció completamente profesional y con una formación por demás llena de recursos para hacer de su trabajo algo serio y respetuoso con sus clientes. Poner la vida emocional y hasta espiritual en la guía de otros, es un salto al abismo. Un acto de fe.
El libro ha sido una magnífica sorpresa. Muy bien escrito, claro, de fácil lectura, lo que no quiere decir simple o banal, y además con ejercicios que hacen del uso de la teoría una verdadera caja de herramientas para trabajar aquello que es de nuestro interés trabajar.
Solo puedo recomendar su lectura.

Suit coat pocket sized!

It is nice to have a ritual that can fit in my suit pocket. This contains all the major rites of the Roman Catholic Latin Rite and also many blessings as well. With a side by side English to Latin form, it allows the prayers to be said in either language.

This is very useful for visits to the sick in hospitals, or just a general travel ritual. I keep this handy on me for use in a pinch!

What about the graveside rite?

This is an excellent ritual, except for one flaw: the graveside rite is only in Latin. Everything else is Latin and English. Otherwise, everything from it's truly pocket-size to the traditional appearance is great.

A Beautiful Book

This is a beautifully bound book. The leather and gilded edges are outstanding quality. I so appreciate the Latin text. Call me old fashioned, but I do miss the days when Latin was the language of the Church. Thank you, Jessica, for the nice handwritten note on the packing slip.

Excellent resource

David Sacks spent four years writing this clear and comprehensive compilation, and the results reward his efforts. The title is a bit of a misnomer -- this is really a one-volume encyclopedia, not a dictionary of simple definitions. Laid out from A to Z are descriptions and analyses of politicians, poets, playwrights, and philosophers, gods and myths, cities, historical events, and the many civic and social institutions that comprised Greek civilization over a span of two millennia, with emphasis on the classical era of the 400s and 300s B.C. He is as informative about colonization and kinship as he is about painting and warfare. Cyclops, mathematics, the Seven Wonders of the World, it all seems to be here. If the subject you are curious about doesn't have an entry of its own -- which it probably does -- the book's extensive index will direct you to the right page. The author is as even-handed about the great achievements of the Greeks (philosophy, democracy, art) as he is about those aspects more troubling to moderns, such as homosexuality, slavery, and the treatment of women. Sacks writes in a remarkably easy and engaging style without sacrificing detail, which enables the reader to absorb a great deal of information quickly. Aimed at high school and college and general readers who are hungry for knowledge, this book is an excellent quick reference for advanced students as well.
